Flight Simulator Training

Aptrac has a state-of-the-art FTPT II MCC flight simulator for fixed-wing training based at our school facilities at the Port Elizabeth city airport. This flight simulator is an exact replica of a Piper Arrow or Piper Seneca and can be flown in either configuration depending on the training being undertaken.  It is type-specific with a 150-degree field of view.   We also have a Bell Jet Ranger Simulator for helicopter students.

Courses or part hours towards a course are undertaken on the simulator as follows:

• PPL (5 hours) 
• NIGHT RATING
• TYPE RATINGS
• MULTI-CREW RATING
• INSTRUMENT RATING
• COMMERCIAL PILOT’S LICENSE
• ALTP LICENCE
• FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR RATING (5 hours)

ALSO INTEGRATED CRM TRAINING

They will be used at an elementary level as a generic piston engine craft to provide Commercial Pilot License students with their initial instrument training for Night and Instrument Ratings. Thereafter, they will be utilised to their full potential for more advanced training such as: advanced systems training (including GPS, GPWS & ACAS) and type-specific conversion training onto the Arrow and Seneca and Bell Jetranger respectively. CRM, MCC and Airline Preparation Programs will also be conducted using this simulation as a highly effective training medium.
